Pharmacy Supervisor
Additional Information About The Role
Are you looking to take your oncology practice to the next level? Siteman Pharmacy has an opportunity for a pharmacy supervisor (PIC) at the BJH academic campus. This role will oversee pharmacy operations of 8 IV hoods that produce 150-400 sterile preps per day for an 88 chair infusion center, leads a team of 5 RPH and 11 technicians, and plays a critical role of operationalizing specialized therapies across the hematology and oncology spectrum. This supervisor role will be integrated into our Siteman leadership team that includes 7 other pharmacy supervisors, infusion pharmacy manager, IDS manager, specialty pharmacy manager, and our clinical specialist manager.
Role Purpose
Ensures the prompt and accurate preparation and dispensing of medications according to prescription orders from practitioners authorized by law to prescribe. Instructs, coordinates and monitors the work activities of staff to meet patient and customer needs in accordance with the rules and regulations for pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans.
- Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Aids in pharmacy operations and integration with other departments.
- Provides pharmaceutical care appropriate to the needs and age of the patients served.
- Interprets patient data to identify, prevent, and resolve drug therapy problems and ensures safe and effective drug therapy.
- Collaborates with Pharmacists, Technicians and Students.
- Aids in the development and enforcement of pharmacy policies and procedures in accordance with all hospital policies and governmental regulations.
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy
- Experience: Supervisor Experience No Experience
- Licenses & Certifications: Medication Therapy Services in MORPh
Preferred Requirements
- Education: Master's Degree
- Experience: 2-5 years
