9-month position, 6 hours per day. Program: Autism. Primary location: Boulder City (Andrew Mitchell Elementary School).

About the Role

This para-professional position supports students with autism in an elementary school setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with autism.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, including behavior management and academic assistance.
• Help students develop communication, social, and daily living skills.
• Monitor and document student progress as directed by the teacher or IEP team.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with children, preferably those with autism or other special needs.
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, flexibility, and a commitment to supporting diverse learning needs.
