About the Role
Uses specialized knowledge to support key areas of the organization related to an area of expertise. Applies data, research analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to support colleagues and leadership in achieving the organization’s strategic objectives. Serves as a peer influencer and may direct a project or project team by leveraging industry experience and specialized knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Schedule complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states.
- Schedule for multiple facilities with significant variations in protocols.
- Perform pre-registration, scheduling, electronic insurance eligibility verification, and accurately identify and collect patient financial responsibility.
- Handle complex scheduled events, including high-dollar testing, associated studies, and those with study-specific instructions.
- Communicate effectively with service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
- Initiate the overall patient experience and begin the billing process for services provided by the hospital.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two to five years of experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access.
- National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
- Proficiency in Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software.
- Comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems and demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes.
- Minimum of five years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting.
