Scheduling Specialist II - Remote
Description
Supports customer relations, physician relations, patient care, and hospital business services by performing administrative and scheduling tasks for multiple areas.
Responsibilities
- Pre-registration, scheduling, and electronically verifying insurance eligibility.
- Accurately identifying and collecting patient financial responsibility.
- Handling complex scheduled events, including high-dollar testing, associated studies, and those with study-specific instructions.
- Communicating effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
- Initiating the overall patient experience and the billing process for any services provided by the hospital.
Specialist I vs. Specialist II
Specialist I: Performs core scheduling and administrative duties as described above.
Specialist II: Must possess comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems and demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes with a minimum of five years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting. Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states.
- Ability to schedule for multiple facilities with significant variants in protocols.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Two to five years of experience in scheduling, financial clearance, or patient access.
- National certification in HFMA CRCR or NAHAM CHAA required within one year of hire.
- Proficiency in the use of Patient Registration/Patient Accounting systems and related software systems.
