About the role
The Organizational Development Specialist supports organizational goals, analyzes business processes, and completes designed interventions. They analyze business operations and processes, interview personnel to identify developmental needs, and report the impact of their interventions to Managers and Directors. The Organizational Development Specialist supports opportunities to increase an organization's effectiveness by efficiently utilizing and managing their resources.
Responsibilities
- Support designed interventions in the areas of talent management, succession planning, performance management, and change management
- Support the achievement of business goals and objectives
- Maintain the Organizational Change Management Toolkit and associated processes
- Support the OD team on organizational development and change management needs, supporting and facilitating customized strategies and solutions that drive sustainable change and build leader/organizational capability
- Maintain expertise in providing solutions to performance issues or competency gaps and monitors program progress to completion
- Conduct data collection efforts to validate tools meant to measure employee productivity, performance, or engagement
- Execute coaching and mentoring programs including executive coaching, mentoring, peer coaching
- Collaborate effectively cross functionally and achieve results with and through others
- Oversee assigned OD vendor platforms and other SaaS utilized by the company
- Stay abreast of organizational development trends and advanced thinking around solutions to further development talent and organizational effectiveness
- Partner across functions to integrate learning initiatives with the company's growth approach
- Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field
- 3 plus years of related experience and/or training
- Strong planning, organizational and project management skills
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders including leadership, managers, and employees
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrams
- Excellent communication skills, presentation skills, and networking abilities
- Strong time management skills and initiative, and the ability to collaborate on project based work
- Proficient with Talent Management systems, assessments, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
- Excellent facilitation skills, both in person and via virtual presence
- Ability to utilize The Action Research Model
- Applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience
- Encouraged to seek continuous improvements
- Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments
- Works independently with general supervision
- Problems faced are difficult but not typically complex
Preferred qualifications
- Certified Executive Coach (IFC accepted)
- Certified Korn Ferry Leadership Architect
- Certified to deliver facilitation of communication styles model (Desired CoreStrengths)
Work environment
- Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations
- Overnight and out-of-state travel as needed, though typically up to 20% depending upon assigned clients
- Potential for hybrid or remote work
