Specialist II Organizational Development
About the Role
Ahold Delhaize USA, a division of global food retailer Ahold Delhaize, supports five leading omnichannel grocery brands—Food Lion, Giant Food, The GIANT Company, Hannaford, and Stop & Shop—with services including Finance, Legal, Sustainability, Commercial, Digital and E-commerce, and Technology. This role focuses on developing and delivering organizational development strategic plans to enhance senior leadership competence and culture, driving strong organizational results. The position designs and delivers OD interventions and owns wellbeing reporting for ADUSA, collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote learning, best practice sharing, alignment, and positive organizational change.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement executive development plans in collaboration with the Organizational Effectiveness team, including yearly plans for executive development, connection, and team-building aligned with leadership behaviors.
- Provide intervention design and support for addressing ineffective functional dilemmas across ADUSA, working with Brand OD teams on best practices and improvement opportunities.
- Maintain a library of best practices for team-building, development, and change management tools for ADUSA Brands, ensuring easy access to resources for continuous improvement.
- Guide the organization through periods of change (e.g., mergers, acquisitions, restructuring, or technology implementations) by co-creating a change management playbook and supporting successful transitions.
- Consult on larger transformation projects, ensuring the AD CARES change model is utilized and understood by change leaders.
- Own the US reporting process end-to-end, ensuring accurate and timely reporting on metrics.
- Facilitate culture activation and enhancement by working closely with the ADUSA Services HR team (e.g., listening strategies, Employee Value Propositions, TEI shared learnings).
- Incorporate wellbeing practices into team development and learning curriculum to foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Aggregate AES (Associate Engagement Survey) results and create an annual executive summary, conducting surveys, checkpoints, and analyzing data to inform actionable insights.
- Manage external partnerships in the Organizational Development space (e.g., Top Employer Institute, TWIG, Next UP, Insights Discovery, Fierce Conversations) to support strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of progressive experience in organizational development, change management, strategy, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of organizational development principles, change management methodologies, and wellbeing practices.
- Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive results.
- Strong analytical skills to synthesize and align solutions with business strategies.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to present concepts credibly and confidently.
- Proficiency in Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Certification in relevant areas such as Change Management, Coaching, or Leadership Development.
- Strong emotional intelligence and confidence to influence and facilitate change across organizational hierarchies.
- Working knowledge of adult learning theories.
Schedule
Flexible/hybrid work schedule with 3 in-person days at one of the core office locations (Salisbury, NC; Chicago, IL; Quincy, MA; Carlisle, PA; Scarborough, ME; Hyattsville, MD) and 2 remote days.
Pay
Salary range: $86,320 – $129,480. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final decisions will align with company policies and applicable laws.
