About the Role

The Operations Trainer establishes and maintains a Training Center of Excellence, developing, coordinating, and facilitating training programs for all levels of plant personnel—including shop floor operators, team leads, supervisors, managers, and salaried staff. Training topics cover essential production-line skills, 6S methodologies, continuous improvement concepts, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of training programs (25% of time)
  • Coaching and mentoring employees on processes and procedures (60% of time)
  • Continuous improvement and 6S training execution (10% of time)
  • Documentation and reporting on training effectiveness (5% of time)

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in Business, Education, Industrial Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in training, learning & development, or a related field
  • Experience with training program development and implementation
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct reports. May oversee and guide training personnel or support staff involved in training programs.

Work Environment

  • Requires 5% travel
  • Open-office setting
  • Factory setting with noise

Essential job functions include the ability to work for long periods while sitting, standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.
