About the Role

The Operations Trainer establishes and maintains a Training Center of Excellence, developing, coordinating, and facilitating training programs for all levels of plant personnel—including shop floor operators, team leads, supervisors, managers, and salaried staff. Training topics cover production-line skills, 6S methodologies, continuous improvement concepts, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of training programs (25% of time)
  • Coaching and mentoring employees on processes and procedures (60% of time)
  • Continuous improvement and 6S training execution (10% of time)
  • Documentation and reporting on training effectiveness (5% of time)

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree in Business, Education, Industrial Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in training, learning & development, or a related field
  • Experience with training program development and implementation
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

Skills

  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and adjust programs accordingly
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct reports. May oversee and guide training personnel or support staff involved in training programs.

Work Environment

  • Requires 5% travel
  • Open-office setting
  • Factory setting with noise

Essential job functions include the ability to work for long periods while sitting, standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen.

Software

Basic experience required in Windows, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
