Responsibilities
- Review and process all medical claims to the health plan in a timely and accurate manner.
- Demonstrate a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately assign/review ICD-10-CM, CPR, and HCPCS codes to outpatient medical records.
- Enter and review claims into the billing system.
- Review missing documentation and request/obtain appropriate information from the PCP.
- Coach and develop staff.
- Train new employees, handle product changes, and new client implementations.
- Uphold the principles of compliance as outlined in the Code of Conduct, Employee Handbook, and related policies and procedures.
- Support and participate in the mandatory Corporate Compliance Program training initiative on an annual or more frequent basis, as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in healthcare billing, collections, and coding.
- Experience with automated billing systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous experience coaching and/or developing staff.
- Experience training new employees, handling product changes, and new client implementations.
