Position Summary

We are seeking Middle School Special Education Teachers to support students with diverse learning needs in Milwaukee, WI. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, teachers will provide specialized instruction, academic support, and program implementation for students receiving special education services. Teachers will collaborate with general education staff, special education teams, and school leadership to ensure students receive appropriate services and support in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Monday-Friday

Hours

38 hours per week

Pay Rate

$55+/hr based on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students receiving special education services.
  • Implement and monitor IEP goals and accommodations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
  • Provide tutorial assistance and individualized instruction as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with special education requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and student support planning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid Wisconsin DPI Cross Categorical (CC) Special Education License required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Valid state teaching certification as required by state and district regulations.
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Standard Elementary, Secondary, and/or Special Education Teaching certifications preferred.
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred.
  • Ability to comply with all professional standards of practice.
  • Current CPR certification, if required.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if required.
  • Current health certificate, if required by state or contract regulations.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
