Kenosha, Wisconsin is seeking dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers for the 2026–2027 School Year. Position Details

  • Position: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Kenosha, WIS
  • School Year: 2026–2027
  • Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours per Week
  • Setting: In-Person Only
  • Pay Rate: $35+/hour (taxable wages), based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with administrators, teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Absorb student performance and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and goals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Active Wisconsin teaching certification/license required in accordance with district and state regulations
  • Special Education certification or endorsement preferred
  • Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families
  • Current CPR certification, health documentation, and TB screening if required by district or state guidelines
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Credentials

  • Standard Elementary Teaching Certification
  • Standard Secondary Teaching Certification
  • Standard Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement or equivalent special education credential
