Brief Position Overview
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures maintains an applicant pool for Non-Tenure Track Instructors in Spanish. Instructors typically teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester. All positions are pending adequate enrollment and funding.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a Foreign University;
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent from a Foreign University in Spanish or a closely related field, or relevant knowledge and experience appropriate to the position (e.g., superior level proficiency; extensive residence abroad, etc.);
  • Proficiency level in Spanish appropriate to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD in Spanish or other relevant discipline;
  • Superior level proficiency in Spanish;
  • Experience teaching at the college level.

Special Requirements/Additional Information

  • The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.
  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU).

Program

  • The Department Modern Languages & Literatures offers courses in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, and Spanish.
  • Students may major or minor in Asian Studies, French & Francophone Studies, German Studies, Hispanic Studies, and Latin American & Latino Studies.
  • Teaching options in French, German, and Spanish are also offered.
