Brief Position Overview
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures maintains an applicant pool for Non-Tenure Track Instructors in French. Instructors typically teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester. All positions are pending adequate enrollment and funding.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Instructors typically teach 1 to 5 language classes per semester.
  • All positions are pending adequate enrollment and funding.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a Foreign University;
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent from a Foreign University in French or a closely related field, or relevant knowledge and experience appropriate to the position (e.g., superior level proficiency; extensive residence abroad, etc.);
  • Proficiency level in French appropriate to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A PhD in French or other relevant discipline;
  • Superior level proficiency in French;
  • Experience teaching at the college level.

  • Non-Tenure Track Faculty – Any position that is .5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU).
