About the role
This is a posting to gather a pool of qualified applications for possible positions in the MSU Library. We seek librarians and other professionals on an as-needed basis for work in a variety of areas, including: Reference and instruction, Instructional Technology and/or Instructional Design, Scholarly communication, Collection development, Digital initiatives, Archives and Special Collections cataloging and metadata, Special projects.

Requirements
- A Master’s degree from an ALA accredited graduate program or terminal graduate degree in a field appropriate to the position.
- Previous relevant experience in an academic environment.
- Previous experience working in an instruction or public services role in a college or university.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills across a range of audiences, including students, faculty, library colleagues, and the professional community.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to relate to and establish rapport with a college student population.
- Exercise good judgment and self-motivation.
- Commitment to student success.
- Commitment to quality teaching.
- An appreciation of diverse constituencies and add intellectual diversity to the department.
- Dedication to supporting and enhancing Montana State University’s initiative for diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
Skills
- Strong interest in student success.
- Ability to work at computer terminals for at least 3-4 hours a day.
- Flexibility in schedules to meet occasional vacation and sick leave demands of the department.
