Brief Position Overview
The MSSE Instructor position is a non-tenure track instructor position for the Master of Science in Science Education (MSSE) degree program. It is an instructor position for a fall, spring, or summer graduate level science or education course. MSSE graduate students enrolled in the course are practicing K-12 teachers of science working in public and/or private institutions and non-traditional/informal instructional settings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach MSSE online and/or campus field/lab science courses in the disciplines of Ecology, Biology, Chemistry/Biochemistry, Earth Science/Geology, Land Resources and Environmental Science, Microbiology, Physics, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Plant Science as well as Education during fall and/or spring semesters and/or summer session.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral or master’s degree in science, science education, engineering, agriculture or other science education fields.
  • University teaching experience, and/or experience teaching K-12, and/or experience working as an education coordinator or curriculum developer in public or private organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with The Next Generation Science Standards and guideline for science teacher education and distance learning.
  • Experience in development, delivery and assessment of graduate courses.

  • The position for which you have applied MAY BE a Union position. Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.
