Spa Receptionist II, Burr Ridge

About the role

Onsite position in Burr Ridge, IL. Spa Receptionists provide 5-star service to spa guests during arrival/departure, process point-of-sale/cash transactions, maintain knowledge of spa treatments and offerings, and build positive relationships with spa staff. They must have excellent communication skills, multitasking ability, and computer/technology proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Consistently provide service and maintain cleanliness standards at a Forbes 5-Star level.
• Complete KWS DESIGNing for 5-Star training.
• Use Expert Property Management System (and related systems) to process transactions, complete orders, and accurately book/edit spa treatments.
• Meet all Forbes 5-Star requirements with reservation process; ensure accuracy of all reservations.
• Maximize availability utilizing therapists and resources to full capacity.
• Support all spa retail activities outside of retail team hours; recommend and educate guests on retail items (Phytomer, Skin Authority, Naturopathica, Signature Products, Aromatherapy Associates, SpaRitual, Saltability, Moroccanoil, Bumble & Bumble, Jane Iredale, Coola, Sonoma Lavender, Ambre, NuFace, etc.).
• Process all retail transactions, attaching therapist names to sales for commission; package purchases per guest demand.
• Maintain knowledge of spa treatments, policies, amenities, food & beverage, and overall resort options; communicate with guests.
• Know all 90+ spa treatments outside of menu descriptions; understand health-related contraindications.
• Receive guest feedback/complaints and resolve guest/staff issues.
• Enforce spa policies (service requirements, age restrictions, guest behavior, etc.) with minimal supervision.
• Act as spa evening MOD when scheduled to address guest or staff needs.
• Attend spa events, maintain scheduling flexibility, attend continuing education opportunities and monthly staff meetings.
• Maintain facility safety, cleanliness, and guest amenity standards with 20‑minute walkthroughs.
• Replenish guest amenity items (Spa Crisper Bars, coffee, hot water, creamer, infused water including cucumber water and seasonal options) for upper‑level public spaces and Finishing Spa.
• Ensure full upper‑level cleanliness; remove debris from floors, especially front doors; mop/dry marble floors as needed (note salt shoe prints in winter).
• Clean public restrooms (toilet, sink, mirror) and replenish toilet paper and hand towels.
• Wash reusable plastic cups and replenish.
• Under supervision, assist in training new guest services associates.
• Adhere to Forbes and Kohler H&RE grooming standards.
• Support spa food & beverage operations, including obtaining servicing license for liquor safe handling; prepare and serve food & beverage items outside café hours.
• Maintain cleanliness of Spa Café kitchen outside café serving hours (wash dishes, put away ingredients).
• Comply with Kohler Company attendance policy, safety standards, and spa SOPs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior customer service experience within a spa environment.
• Prior experience receiving/resolving guest experience issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong detail orientation.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring use of multiple computer/guest management systems.
• Obtain and maintain liquor servicing license.
• Authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop or kneel.
• Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 15 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $15.20 – $22.80 plus tips/gratuity; the specific rate offered may be influenced by experience, education, and work location.

Schedule

This is a casual part‑time position working weekends and weekdays, with hours varying between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm.
