Job Description

The Department of Revenue is hiring for Temporary Law Clerks! Gain practical legal experience and serve the public!

We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your academic schedule during the school year as well.

• Conducts research for agency attorneys; reviews, studies, searches, and annotates laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs and related legal authorities.
• Analyze law sources to prepare drafts of briefs or arguments for review, approval, and use by attorney.
• Affords assistance in preparing legal files and/or documents and/or correspondence such as briefs, affidavits, motions, subpoenas, petitions, or memorandums for use by agency attorneys.
• Proofreads letters, briefs, memoranda and other material prepared by agency attorneys.
• Might assist in drafting proposed rules, regulations and statutes.
• May represent agency in administrative hearings under supervision of a licensed agency attorney pursuant to Certified Senior Law Student Rule.

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications for a Law Clerk I: Current enrollment in, and completion of one year of law school (approved by the American Bar Association).
