About the role
The Ultrasound Technologist operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform imaging on internal organs, vessels, fluid accumulations, masses, and developing fetuses. They record high-quality images, conduct measurements, and report preliminary findings to Radiologists or Cardiologists. The role involves ensuring image accuracy and transferring scans for interpretation.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound procedures across various anatomical areas
- Report initial findings and measurements to appropriate medical personnel
- Ensure quality control of scanned images and transfer data to imaging systems
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or registered as a Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT))
- Alternatively, credentialed as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or relevant registration within one year for new graduates
- For Radiology, ARDMS or ARRT registration and certification in applicable areas, with specific certifications required within specified timeframes
