About the Role
Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform procedures on internal organs, vessels, fluids, masses, and developing fetuses. Report preliminary findings to physicians.
Responsibilities
- Record high-quality ultrasound images.
- Transfer data for interpretation.
- Ensure accurate measurements and diagnoses.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current credentials as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or Registered Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT)).
- Applicable registration within one year for new graduates.
Skills
- Proficiency in ultrasound procedures and equipment operation.
- Quality assessment of images.
- Effective communication of findings to medical staff.
Additional Requirements
- Certification in specific sonography areas (e.g., Vascular Technology) within prescribed timeframes, depending on department and registration route.
