About the Role

Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment to perform procedures on internal organs, vessels, fluids, masses, and developing fetuses. Report preliminary findings to physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Record high-quality ultrasound images.
  • Transfer data for interpretation.
  • Ensure accurate measurements and diagnoses.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current credentials as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or Registered Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT)).
  • Applicable registration within one year for new graduates.

Skills

  • Proficiency in ultrasound procedures and equipment operation.
  • Quality assessment of images.
  • Effective communication of findings to medical staff.

Additional Requirements

  • Certification in specific sonography areas (e.g., Vascular Technology) within prescribed timeframes, depending on department and registration route.
