About the role
Operate ultrasound equipment, perform procedures on internal organs, vessels, masses, and fetuses, and report preliminary findings to physicians such as Radiologists or Cardiologists.
Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound scans and capture high-quality images
- Record images and ensure transfer to imaging systems for interpretation
- Report measurements and preliminary diagnoses accurately
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Credentialing as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), or similar registration by ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI
- For new graduates, registration within one year is necessary
- Additional certifications in vascular sonography within 24 months may be required
Skills
- Strong technical and diagnostic skills in ultrasound procedures
- Attention to detail and quality in image capturing
- Effective communication skills for reporting findings
