Sonographer - Almara l OGI

Almara Women's Health | OGI is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices owned and led by its physicians, on a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

About the role

This full-time Sonographer role produces multi-dimensional (2D, 3D, 4D) ultrasonic recordings of OB-GYN internal organs for physician diagnosis and study. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM based on business need, with travel to Edina and Maple Grove, and work every 6th Saturday in Maple Grove.

Responsibilities

• Select equipment for ultrasound setup according to examination specifications.
• Explain the process to the patient, instruct and assist in assuming the correct physical position for the examination.
• Select the transducer and adjust equipment controls based on the organ being examined, depth of field, and other test specifications.
• Key test data and patient information into the ultrasound equipment computer to maintain records.
• Move the transducer by hand over the specified body area and monitor the quality of the ultrasonic pattern produced on the display screen.
• Operate equipment to produce images of internal organs and record diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip printout, or film.
• Photograph images of organs shown on the display module or remove strip printouts to obtain a permanent record of the internal examination.
• Complete a preliminary report of findings.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Fifth-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
• ARDMS certification with a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Ability to comply with company policies, procedures, practices, and business ethics guidelines.
• Complete job-required training.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, employment laws).
• Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance.
• Work in the clinic, office, or surgery center during business hours.
• Travel independently throughout the clinic, office, or surgery center; frequent bending, lifting, standing, stooping, or sitting for long periods may be required.
• Work at an efficient and productive pace, handle interruptions appropriately, and meet deadlines.
• Communicate and interact in a respectful and professional manner.
• Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet daily operational expectations.
• Apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Understand and execute a variety of instructions.
• Effectively operate equipment and communicate via phone systems.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Travel to other work locations if required.

Working Conditions

• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds independently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously throughout the shift.
• Frequently perform physical activities such as pushing, pulling, and reaching.
• Visual acuity to read electronic and paper documents.
• Auditory ability to participate clearly in phone or video calls.
• Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (e.g., computer, phone, printer).
