Sonographer
About the role
The Sonographer at CHI St Alexius Health Williston utilizes advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care. You will directly interact with patients, explain procedures, answer questions, prepare them for scans, operate sonographic equipment, adjust settings and patient positions, monitor and care for patients, select and examine images for pathologies, and present preliminary findings to physicians.
Responsibilities
- Produce high quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam
- Recognize the sonographic appearance of normal and abnormal tissue structures and provide the best image quality for documentation
- Instruct and educate patients regarding the ordered test and prepare them for the procedure
- Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations. Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS.
- Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
- Maintain order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited college or technical program for Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 12 - months
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Preferred
- Sonographer experience in a Critical Access Hospital

Pay
The posted compensation range of $35.62 - $52.99 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
