About the role
The Netskope DSPM Specialist is a technical pre-sales role focused on the Data Discovery and Classification products from Netskope. The ideal candidate will help our sales efforts by offering expertise and technical knowledge on Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions and Data Security Posture Management (DSPM). This is a highly impactful role where you will have the opportunity to influence the business and advance your career.
Responsibilities
- Exceed sales targets and evangelize the DSPM product internally and externally.
- Articulate the high-level benefits of Netskope's Data Protection solutions to senior security management, CISOs, and CIOs.
- Construct best practices for presentations, demos, and Proof of Concept/Value exercises, as well as overall win strategy.
- Take an active role in customer success within your region and help resolve any customer satisfaction issues, escalating cross-functionally when needed.
- Understand customer needs and position Netskope’s product as the best solution that addresses those requirements and provides business value.
- Create and deliver product demonstrations.
- Gather customer technical requirements.
- Participate in trade shows as required.
- Provide insight on competitive solutions and differentiate Netskope’s offerings.
- Create evaluation test plans with customers and partners and manage the evaluation process to a successful conclusion.
- Lead Proof-of-Concepts (POCs).
- Present at conferences and seminars.
- Respond effectively to RFIs/RFPs.
Requirements
- 7+ years of relevant experience as a Solutions/System Engineer with a focus on Data Security Solutions, with a proven track record of presenting technical information at the business executive or architect level.
- Strong empathy for customers and passion for revenue and growth.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, ranging from technical to senior executive audiences.
- Comfortable with public speaking and presenting to both internal and external executive audiences.
- Ability to scale from whiteboard discussions to working with security architects and influencing CISOs.
- Passion for helping customers and delivering satisfaction, even when faced with difficult customers.
- Demonstrable experience with systems installation, configuration, and administration of Linux, macOS, and Windows-based systems.
- Experience with container and serverless computing, including Docker, Lambda, Kubernetes, and AWS ECS.
- Experience with data protection strategies, both inline and out-of-band, using technologies like CASB, SWG, SSE, and SASE.
- Experience working with cloud identity providers like Okta, Ping, and Azure, as well as on-prem solutions like Active Directory (AD).
- Experience working with public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
- Understanding of data access control strategies and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Technical expertise in data discovery and protection, including Regular Expressions (Regex), Exact Data Matching (EDM), and dictionaries.
- Technical expertise in data systems like MongoDB, SQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, S3, and Azure Blob.
- Demonstrated understanding of data pipeline solutions such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Availability for occasional customer meetings within the region.
- Experience working in and selling cloud-based technologies (SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS).
- Understanding and hands-on experience utilizing and tuning AI LLMs, MCP servers, and AI agents.
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience with scripting languages such as Python and REST API frameworks.
- Prior experience with other vendor cloud security solutions (e.g., Bluecoat, Symantec, McAfee, Cyera, Zscaler, Security, BigID, Varonis).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSK, CCSP, CCSE).
- Cloud architecture certifications like AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional and Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Agile Scrum certifications: CSPO, CSM, or CSP.
- Project Management Certification: PMP.
Education
Relevant Bachelor’s degree; preference for computer science or related degrees.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $185,000—$280,000 USD. This is a national range, with the successful candidate’s starting pay determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions. For sales roles, this range represents the On Target Earnings (OTE), which includes base salary and target commission at 100% goal achievement. Candidates may also be eligible for participation in a bonus plan (for non-sales roles) and a stock award program.
