Solutions Architect, National Security Solutions Architecture Team

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our US Government customers in the Northern Virginia / DC Metro area. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Intelligence Community customers, providing architecture designs and cloud enablement strategy that suit business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with and influence external stakeholders (our government customers) and internal AWS teams like Sales and Platform Engineering.
• Think outside the box to deliver results to customers and provide solutions that are cost-effective, time-saving, and secure.
• Partner with the sales team to formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS.
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software, and services on the AWS platform.
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS.
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architect community.
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and other reusable content.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

Requirements

• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• A current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Qualifications

• Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Experience with AWS technologies.

Pay

Base salary range for this position is $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually.

Schedule

This position can have periods of up to 25% travel.
