Senior Solutions Architect, National Security Solutions Architecture Team

About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our US Government customers in the BWI / Jessup, MD area. The ideal candidate must be a US Citizen and currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
• Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform
• Define technical solutions to meet business objectives
• Communicate technical solutions to a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior business leaders, analysts, IT management and developers
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers and other reusable content
• Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

Requirements

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 6+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• Experience effectively communicating to and presenting technical solutions to a diverse set of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior business leaders, analysts, IT management and developers
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner) or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) or Cloud+ or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
• 10+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers
• Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures
• Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
• Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA and FedRAMP
