About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Solutions Architect to support our US Government customers in the Northern Virginia / DC Metro area. This position requires a current TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to Intelligence Community customers, providing architecture designs and cloud enablement strategy that suit their business and technical needs.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders (government customers) and internal AWS teams like Sales and Platform Engineering to influence and shape solutions.
  • Think outside the box to deliver innovative solutions that address customer pain points and enable efficient operation.
  • Drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers by partnering with the sales team and educating them on the value proposition of AWS.
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to ensure seamless integration and maintenance of cloud solutions.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and ready to collaborate. They should be passionate about connecting technology with measurable business value and enjoy working with Intelligence Community customers.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
  • 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
  • A current, active TS/SCI US Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting.
  • Experience architecting/operating solutions built on AWS.
  • A Bachelor's degree, or CASP+ (CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner), or CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional), or Cloud+, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
  • Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as ICD 503, FISMA, and FedRAMP.

Skills

The ideal candidate should be able to distill customer needs into requirements and articulate technical concepts verbally and in writing. They should be passionate about driving innovation and shaping the AWS service roadmap to support our customers' requirements within the complex technical constraints of the cleared environment.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $131,300.00 - $177,600.00 USD annually.

Schedule

This position can have periods of up to 25% travel.
