Solid Waste Supervisor (2027) Port Hueneme California

Season: March - April • Location: Port Hueneme, California

Responsibilities

• Oversees operations and workflow of the solid-waste department.
• Ensures applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety standards are followed.
• Maintains and updates the Solid Waste Tracking spreadsheet; ensures quality control of data input.
• Coordinates daily tasking for Waste Stream Coordinators, depending on their skill set.
• Operates equipment such as articulating loaders, graders, forklifts, tracked agricultural tractors, dump trucks, and excavators safely and proficiently.
• Performs daily equipment checks to ensure proper maintenance and safe operating condition.
• Complies with ASC Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements.
• Performs physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of tall vehicles and heavy equipment, crawling, working outdoors in extreme conditions, and walking long distances daily.
• Records time worked and equipment hours used in Maximo as needed.
• Participates in community programs such as "house-mouse" (chores), "daisy-picking" (cleaning around the station), recycling efforts, and safety objectives.
• Performs other duties as required.

Reports to Program Manager.

Requirements

• Willingness and ability to deploy to Port Hueneme, California.
• Ability to lift and move items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to safety regulation maximum.
• Ability to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
• US citizenship or permanent residency required.
• High school graduate or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required; Class A or B CDL preferred.
• Must successfully complete an Elevated Background Investigation (EBI) prior to deployment.

Candidates will be required to complete online forms, written forms, fingerprint cards, and provide additional details as requested by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Personnel Security office.

Preferred

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
