About the role

The Applied Systems Laboratory (ASL) Systems Integration Division (SID) supports systems integration, system design, and product development projects for the Department of Defense (DoD) systems. SID researches military systems specializing in avionics, electronic warfare, autonomous systems, intelligence systems, tactical communication/datalink systems; and live, virtual, constructive training solutions. The SID team's engineering roles include Systems Engineering, Algorithm Engineering, Datalink Engineering, and Embedded Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Create software requirements
• Design software components
• Implement embedded software
• Integrate and test embedded software
• Create software technical data packages

Requirements

• Co-op pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computational Science and Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms.
• Able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools
• Familiarity with Cameo System Modeling tools
• Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
• Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
