About the role
The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking co-ops in the Autonomy Technology Transition Division (ATTD) for the Fall 2026 Semester. ATTD conducts research supporting sponsors across the Department of Defense and focuses on autonomous uncrewed aircraft programs.
Responsibilities
- Supporting research on autonomous UAS platforms
- Embedded software development
- C++ and/or Python programming
- Data analysis
- Vehicle and sensor control
- Task allocation, perception, and/or tracking algorithm development
- Test automation
- Software test and verification
- Systems engineering
Requirements
- Co-op pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent engineering degree
- 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
- Eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co-op program and register for co-op credit with your university during work terms
- Able to complete at least three full-time co-op terms (alternating three terms of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school) prior to graduation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with one more programming language
- Experience with Python
- Familiarity with Configuration Management and Collaborative tools
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience
- Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
