About the role

This position requires a strong background in front-end and back-end web development, microservices architecture, and cloud computing technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining complex cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
  • Design and implement microservices using Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and other relevant tools.
  • Deploy and manage distributed computing systems using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and others.
  • Implement and optimize cloud-based big-data solutions using technologies like Elasticsearch, Redis, and Apache Superset.
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in cloud-based distributed computing environments.
  • Manage and scale multi-node cloud installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test cloud computing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements regarding security clearances and certifications.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship and active TS/SCI security clearance with an active polygraph.
  • Twelve (12) years of direct/relevant experience in cloud software engineering and distributed computing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Four (4) years of experience in cloud software engineering and distributed computing.
  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Cloudera Certified Hadoop Developer certification.
  • Experience with various cloud technologies and distributed computing frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud-based big-data systems and information retrieval technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based security measures and information assurance practices.
  • Experience with object-oriented design and programming languages such as Java, Python, and Ruby.
  • Experience with cloud-based networking and virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based management and installation tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based debugging and profiling tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based configuration management tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based data ingestion, parsing, and analysis tools.
  • Experience with cloud-based software development processes and methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Provide in-depth knowledge of information retrieval and assist the software development team in designing, developing, and testing cloud information retrieval systems.
  • Implement complex workflows that manage cloud mapreduce analytics.
  • Implement code that interacts with cloud distributed coordination frameworks.
  • Oversee one or more software development tasks and ensure the work is completed according to the software development process.
  • Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud computing and corresponding technologies, including Hadoop, assisting the software development team in designing, developing, and testing cloud computing systems.
  • Debug problems with cloud-based distributed computing frameworks.
  • Manage multi-node cloud-based installations.
  • Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering.
  • Recommend new technologies and processes for complex cloud software projects.
  • Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.
  • Architect solutions to complex cloud software engineering problems, such as efficiently processing and retrieving large amounts of data.
  • Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.

Pay

$150,000 - $250,000 annually.

Schedule

Full-time, permanent position.
