Position Summary
The Salvation Army Northern Division Fargo Corps Social Services Manager provides supervision to social services staff and programs. The Manager is also responsible for providing emergency assistance and providing a full range of case management services to Pathway of Hope (POH) participants.
Essential Functions
- Supervise social services programs (e.g., POH, emergency assistance, food shelf) and ensure fiscal responsibility (35%).
- Conduct long-term strength-based, person-centered, holistic case management to POH participants (20%).
- Provide program participants with direct assistance (e.g., food shelf, Heatshare, vouchers) (10%).
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate participant information in casefiles and through database entry and internally report relevant outcomes/successes (10%).
- Aid with seasonal and special events (10%).
- Recruit qualifying participants for POH and promote social services and corps programs with clients and throughout the community (5%).
- Engage in internal and external activities to promote and further The Salvation Army and POH goals and objectives (5%).
- Facilitate individual and group educational activities (5%).
Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field. In lieu of degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- If degree is in social work, must be licensed by state board.
- Previous social services experience with increasing responsibility required.
- Previous staff supervision highly preferred.
- Experience conducting long-term case management preferred.

Working Conditions

- Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
- Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends.
- Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide supervision, mentorship, and training to the Social Services team of employees and volunteers.
- Make employment recommendations to Corps Officer.
Driving/Travel Requirements
- Drive company car/van locally to support the mission.
- Rare out of town travel.

Qualifications
- Pass background checks.
- Possess valid driver’s license and meet MVR requirements.
