Social Media Specialist
The Social Media Specialist will serve as the voice of the brand across multiple social channels, owning the strategy, content planning, creation, publishing, community engagement, and performance reporting for key social media initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies that support brand awareness, engagement, recruitment, service line marketing, community outreach, and business objectives.
- Own and maintain the social media content calendar across all major platforms.
- Partner with internal marketing and communications teams to align social content with integrated campaigns and organizational priorities.
- Identify opportunities to elevate storytelling through new content series, campaigns, and platform innovations.
- Monitor industry trends, platform updates, and emerging best practices to continuously improve performance.
- Create engaging, audience-first content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms.
- Capture and produce high-quality photo and video content from events, community initiatives, employee stories, patient experiences, and organizational campaigns.
- Write compelling social copy tailored to each platform while maintaining a trusted, compassionate, and approachable brand voice.
- Edit short-form video content using mobile editing tools and Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with designers, writers, photographers, and video teams to produce impactful social-first creative assets.
- Repackage existing marketing content into engaging social formats.
- Serve as the day-to-day voice of the brand across social channels.
- Monitor comments, direct messages, and conversations while responding in a timely, professional, and engaging manner.
- Escalate customer service issues or sensitive conversations to the appropriate internal teams.
- Foster authentic engagement with patients, members, employees, and community partners.
- Support integrated marketing campaigns by developing platform-specific social strategies and content.
- Cook up paid and organic social efforts alongside digital marketing partners.
- Identify opportunities to leverage trends, timely conversations, and user-generated content where appropriate.
- Continuously test content formats, messaging, posting cadence, and creative approaches to improve engagement.
- Monitor and report on social media performance using native platform analytics and reporting tools.
- Track engagement, audience growth, video performance, reach, and campaign effectiveness.
- Translate data into actionable insights and recommendations for future content strategies.
- Present regular performance updates and optimization recommendations to marketing leadership.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of professional social media marketing experience, ideally supporting healthcare, consumer brands, nonprofit, or highly regulated industries.
- Proven experience managing multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube, and X.
- Strong content creation skills, including copywriting, photography, short-form video production, and mobile-first editing.
- Experience using social media management and analytics platforms such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, CapCut, Premiere Pro, or comparable creative applications.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- A passion for storytelling, digital engagement, and creating content that builds meaningful connections.
