Volunteer Social Media Engagement Specialist (Remote)

About the role

Our Safe Space is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to creating welcoming, judgment-free spaces for personal growth, connection, and resilience. Through free workshops, book clubs, and community programs, we empower individuals, especially women and LGBTQ+ members, to thrive.

Responsibilities

• Respond to comments and messages in a timely, friendly way
• Like, comment on, and engage with posts from aligned accounts
• Follow relevant individuals, organizations, and community partners
• Help increase visibility through consistent, authentic interaction
• Flag anything important or time-sensitive to the team

Requirements

• Someone who enjoys being on social media and interacting with others
• Friendly, responsive, and comfortable communicating online
• Has a good sense of tone (warm, respectful, inclusive)
• Consistent and reliable (short, regular check-ins vs. long sessions)
• Interested in community-building and meaningful connection

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience managing or supporting social media accounts
• Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, BlueSky
• Interest in personal growth or nonprofit work
