- Work closely with art, photo, video, editorial, audience development, and analytics teams to develop and execute social treatments for major stories, packages, tentpoles, and editorial initiatives.
- Work with the Director of Social Media to execute daily, weekly, and weekend publishing priorities through strong platform-specific framing, copy, visuals, and formats.
- Develop and help lead new social-first formats, franchises, and other recurring or experimental treatments.
- Provide editorial and creative guidance to other team members on post framing, platform expression, asset development, and sensitive or complex story treatments.
- Help define, maintain, and evolve social best practices, including standards for voice, positioning, visual storytelling, video packaging, platform formats, and escalation.
- Monitor platform trends, audience behavior, and performance patterns, and recommend creative or editorial adjustments based on those insights.
- Contribute to social coverage of breaking news, major editorial moments, live events, and other time-sensitive programming as needed.
- Help identify opportunities to leverage The New Yorker’s archive for timely, creative, and platform-native social storytelling.
