About the role
We are expanding our services to better serve those we care for. This includes opportunities for Social Care Workers/Residential Care Workers at our homes in Swinford, Co. Mayo.
Responsibilities
- Engage in daily activities and routines of the service
- Provide dedicated direct support to the people we care for
- Contribute to the development, health, and wellbeing of the people we care for
- Support the day-to-day running of the service
- Ensure the completion of the residents' personal plan in line with regulations and standards
- Support the people we support in their daily lives and choices
- Engage with families, clinicians, and build links in the community
- Implement positive support programs
- Promote independence and community integration
- Keep up to date with current social care policies and sectoral changes
- Motivate, support, and encourage the people we support to engage in planned activities
- Take ownership and lead key working in consultation with the people we support
- Support the care of the people we support such as personal care and providing a general overview of their everyday needs
- Work as part of a team, including supporting other staff members in relation to workload
- Attend regular team meetings and engage positively in supervisions by Person in Charge
- Undertake required Health and Safety checks and Risk Assessments
- Manage and administer medication in consultation with medication policy
- Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and other relevant parties
- Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet the needs of the service
- Undertake any other work as required by the service
Requirements
- Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant discipline and be registered as a Social Care Worker with CORU or be in the process of registering as a Social Care Worker with CORU
- Full manual driving license with eligibility to drive in Ireland
- At least one year's recent experience in the social services sector

- Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above in a relevant health-related discipline, such as:
- Social Care and be in the process of registering

- Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
- Counselling/Psychotherapy
- Community or similar
- Social Science/Social Studies
- Family Support
- Teaching (Not TEFL)
- Nursing Studies
- Disability Studies
- Applied Behavioural Analysis
- Early Years Care where center caters for children under 12 years
- Social Pedagogy
- Sports Science
- Physiotherapy
- Occupational Therapy
- Paramedic Studies
