About the Role

The incumbent will direct or assist in directing a competitive sport program while meeting Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as a mentor and positive role model for all students.

Responsibilities

• Build positive working relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
• Develop young athletes while fostering a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and academic excellence.
• Mentor, train, and educate athletes in sport-specific skills and techniques.
• Promote excellence and a winning culture on and off the field.
• Train student athletes in safety and injury prevention.
• Maintain knowledge of UHSAA requirements and regulations.
• Sustain a program with strong traditions and collaborate with an engaged community.

Requirements

• Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Utah Concussion Training certification through the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS).

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience preferred.
• Current Granite School District teachers under contract are encouraged to express coaching interest directly with the school rather than applying.

Compensation

Nominal stipend.
