About the Role
The incumbent will direct or assist in directing a competitive sport program while meeting Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as a mentor and positive role model for students, fostering a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and academic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Develop young athletes by teaching sport-specific skills and techniques.
- Foster a winning culture on and off the field, including safety and injury prevention.
- Train and educate student athletes in UHSAA requirements and regulations.
- Maintain program traditions and collaborate with an engaged community.
Requirements
- Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of required trainings and certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing, concussion, and First Aid/CPR.
Skills
- Ability to mentor and develop student athletes.
- Knowledge of UHSAA regulations and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Pay
Stipend only.
