Football, Assistant Coach - Boys - Volunteer with Nominal Stipend
This position closes at 3:00 pm on the date listed above. A nominal stipend is provided for individuals volunteering their time out of civic or humanitarian interest in youth athletics. About the Role
The incumbent will direct or assist in directing a competitive football program, ensuring compliance with Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as a mentor and positive role model for students, fostering both athletic and academic excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop young athletes while building a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes good sportsmanship and classroom excellence.
- Mentor, train, and educate athletes in football skills, techniques, and game strategies.
- Foster a winning culture on and off the field, promoting safety and injury prevention.
- Maintain knowledge of UHSAA requirements and regulations.
- Uphold program traditions and collaborate with an engaged community.
Requirements
- Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of required trainings and certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing training, concussion training, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Experience developing athletes and fostering a competitive yet supportive team environment.
- Knowledge of football techniques, safety protocols, and injury prevention.
- Strong mentorship and leadership skills.
