About the role

AMD is hiring a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Systems Design Engineer to drive technical innovation and improve AMD’s validation capabilities. This includes tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives. You will debug issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs, work with multiple teams to track test execution, and ensure all features are validated and optimized on time. The role involves collaborating with supporting technical teams, engaging in software/hardware modeling frameworks, and leading a collaborative approach across multiple teams. Multiple openings are available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and scripts to enhance AMD’s validation capabilities.
  • Debug issues during SOC program phases (process, bring-up, validation, and production).
  • Work with multiple teams to track test execution and ensure timely validation and optimization of features.
  • Collaborate with technical teams on software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Lead cross-functional technical initiatives and drive procedural improvements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or a Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a closely related engineering role.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Skills

  • Programming/scripting skills including C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
  • Debugging techniques and methodologies.
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization.
  • System architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
