SMTS IT Engineer

About the role

Xilinx, Inc., a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) IT Engineer to design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. This role involves setting standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security, as well as planning and directing the analysis of business problems with automated systems solutions.

Responsibilities

• Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses.
• Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow.
• Manage Kafka producer and Spark consumer on a very large scale.
• Design and implement Flink and Spark-based ETL flow.
• Optimize and scale Iceberg Lakehouse.
• Manage Data Integrity and Data Security for various big data platforms.
• Ensure enterprise data warehousing scalability using Snowflake, Dremio, and Databricks Lakehouse.
• Collaborate with other technical teams to exploit new technologies and enhance applications and service infrastructure.
• Manage highly scalable on-prem and cloud environments in Azure, GCP, and AWS.
• Contribute to the development, testing, evaluation, or design of system or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT solution set.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of company products.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field or a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in the same fields with six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in a closely related engineering or technology lead role.
• Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related role (or six (6) years with a Bachelor’s degree).
