Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Program and set up SMT equipment including pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and screen printers, printers, laser etching, SPI and AOI machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, focusing on improving yields and reducing manufacturing defects.
- Maintain SMT equipment and perform routine repairs or maintenance as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Document manufacturing processes, machine setups, and quality control activities.
- Train operators and technicians on SMT equipment operation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to address manufacturing challenges and improve process performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in SMT process engineering within an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with SMT equipment such as pick-and-place machines, through-hole soldering systems, reflow ovens, screen printers, and AOI inspection systems.
- Familiarity with SMT components, solder paste processes, and reflow profiling.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting high-volume electronics manufacturing environments.
- Experience improving SMT yield, defect reduction, and production efficiency.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an ESD-controlled electronics manufacturing environment.
- The role may require standing for extended periods, walking within production areas, and interacting with manufacturing equipment.
- The position may require lifting up to 20 lbs, bending, reaching, and occasional movement of trays, carts, or equipment components.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required when working in designated production areas.
