SMART School Responder

About the role

As a SMART Student Responder, you will receive comprehensive training in Standard First Aid and CPR, giving you the knowledge and skills to confidently respond in an emergency. Once trained, you will be scheduled on-call during the school day as part of a dedicated response team. When an emergency happens at your school—whether it’s an injury, sudden illness, or other medical concern—you may be called to help provide first aid support until professional responders arrive.

This role is a unique opportunity to build real-world emergency response experience, develop leadership and teamwork skills, and make a meaningful difference in the safety and well-being of your school community.

Requirements

• Grade 10, 11, or 12 at a participating school

Schedule

On-call during the school day.
