About the role

Bring your clinical expertise to a skilled nursing setting where communication, cognitive, and swallowing treatment can help residents engage in their care and navigate daily life.

Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function to identify treatment needs.
• Establish individualized goals that reflect residents' abilities, preferences, and rehabilitation priorities.
• Provide interventions that support expressing needs, understanding information, memory, and functional problem-solving.
• Deliver clinically appropriate dysphagia treatment and coordinate swallowing recommendations with nursing and dietary staff.
• Teach residents, families, and caregivers practical strategies to use outside treatment sessions.
• Document evaluations and progress, adjust care plans, and participate in interdisciplinary discharge planning.

Pay

$55–$60 per hour.

Schedule

PRN coverage opportunities based on your availability and facility needs.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Speech-Language Pathologist license.
• Strong assessment and treatment skills for adult communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
• Effective teamwork and clear, timely clinical documentation.
• Skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred.
