Skid Steer Operator for Snow Removal

Alts Operation · Verona, WI · Yesterday
Management$32–$38/hrFull-time

About the role

Run a skid steer clearing commercial lots storm after storm, earn strong winter pay, and turn one strong season into year-round skid steer work.

  • When the snow piles up, you're the one who clears it.
  • Run a skid steer through the storm.
  • Stack, push, and load in tight commercial lots.
  • Bank strong seasonal pay for every storm you run, and earn a real shot at year-round work.
  • Do the job right and you could keep your seat all summer.

What You'll Own

Clear commercial and residential lots by running a skid steer to push, stack, and load snow the moment a storm hits.

  • Work clean in tight spaces, maneuvering around parked cars, islands, curbs, and pedestrians without a scratch.
  • Load and relocate snow so lots and drive lanes stay open and usable through the event.
  • Read the site and the storm, hitting the priority accounts first, then working through the rest until every lot is done.
  • Keep your machine storm-ready with pre- and post-run checks, fueling, and basic maintenance.
  • Stay in contact with your manager through the event so nothing gets missed.

What You Bring

  • Prior experience operating a skid steer or compact loader, ideally in snow removal or construction.
  • A valid driver's license (your motor vehicle record will be reviewed).
  • Confidence working in tight commercial lots around vehicles and pedestrians, including in low visibility.
  • This is a seasonal winter role (roughly November through April) with on-call storm response: nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts when snow hits. We aim to clear our properties within about 12 hours of a storm, so when it snows, we need you ready.
  • Dependability when the forecast turns. Operators keep the biggest lots open, so we count on you to show.
  • The physical stamina to work long, on-call shifts outdoors in cold, snow, and ice, climbing in and out of the machine through the storm.

Why Alt's Operation

  • Competitive seasonal pay of $32–$38/hr.
  • Uniforms and PPE provided.
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours over 40 in a week.
  • While part time roles do not include benefits, moving to full time would make you eligible for a 401(k) with company match, plus health, dental, life and disability insurance.
  • The most direct path to year-round work we offer: skid steer operators who perform can keep running a skid steer into the summer season, based on experience and fit.
  • Steady storm hours with one of the largest snow and ice operations in the area, where snow is nearly half of what we do.
  • Well-maintained skid steers and equipment, and a crew that has your back through every event.
  • A family-oriented company, 13 years in business and growing, where the operators who show up in a storm get noticed.

Where You'll Shine

Be the operator trusted with the machine and the biggest lots on the route. Clear what looks impossible after a heavy storm. And turn one strong winter in the seat into a year-round career with a growing team.
