About the Role

This is a fully on-site, field-based role requiring 100% nationwide travel. Site Managers relocate to project sites for 8–12 months at a time and transition to the next project upon completion. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time or as established by the site. Overtime and weekend work will be required as needed. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct daily construction operations on-site, ensuring strategic sequencing, meticulous planning, and adept execution align with the project's timeline and financial objectives.
  • Assume overall responsibility for all stages of construction projects valued in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Develop and review project schedules, cost estimations, bills of materials, budgets, scopes of work, standards, and quotes from suppliers.
  • Manage all internal and external parties to ensure professional project management from system design through construction.
  • Represent the project to external parties such as investors, public authorities, and grid operators.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven track record of managing all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, preferably in utility-scale self-perform solar.
  • Independent oversight of multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, blueprint reading, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in construction management software, such as Procore or similar.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, manage subcontractors, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Physical Demands

  • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to walk or move continuously while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials; assistance recommended for items over 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.

The salary range for this position in Irvine, CA is compliant with the California Pay Transparency Act. Actual compensation varies based on factors including internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses, certifications, geographic location, essential job duties, and experience relative to the role’s minimum qualifications. A discretionary bonus or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to medical, dental, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
