Site Quality Manager (Nationwide Travel)

About the Role

This position reports to the Regional Quality Manager and will maintain a hybrid schedule working from both the assigned jobsite and a home office. The role is based out of the Houston, TX office but requires up to 90% travel. Working hours depend on the site schedule. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; sponsorship is not available at this time.

Responsibilities

• Ensure project quality requirements in civil, structural, electrical, and other construction disciplines are met.
• Champion company safety policies and procedures by example.
• Review project technical requirements, including prime contracts, EPC contracts, applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
• Oversee all aspects of project inspections, including planning, auditing, scheduling, training, coaching, close-outs, and lessons learned.
• Review and approve contractor quality programs and inspection/test plans; identify hold or witness points.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Quality Manager and Project Management Team to develop and implement the Site Quality Plan (SQP).
• Act as the on-site lead for managing the SQP.
• Review and assess construction quality activities to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Supervise, train, and schedule Quality Inspectors, ensuring proper application of standard inspections and testing instructions.
• Provide coaching on effective communication and engagement with project team members.
• Ensure documentation is completed, signed off, and compiled to support turnover and record retention.
• Track and monitor inspections and testing activities; report quality metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Retrieve, track, and present quality metrics to the Project Management team or Corporate Quality Manager as required.
• Perform inspections, tests, and field audits as needed.
• Implement the "Responsibility to Act" policy by stopping unsafe behavior or non-compliant activities.
• Determine the need for inspection tools and equipment, and establish calibration parameters.
• Support the tools and equipment manager in establishing a measuring equipment and calibration program.
• Act as liaison between the company and the owner regarding quality; schedule and coordinate walk-downs and inspections.
• Track punch list actions and provide updates to the project team and management.
• Manage nonconformances at the project level and ensure timely resolution of nonconformance reports.
• Support the use of Standard Work Instructions; develop or improve Work Instructions as needed.
• Review commissioning and energization plans; coordinate inspections and tests as required.
• Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; lead Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Quality Management, including managing quality inspectors, construction coordinators, technicians, or similar roles.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and contract exhibits.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform at a high level while deployed to remote project locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.).
• Ability to influence people to adhere to company policies, procedures, and instructions.
• Ability to develop and interpret reports related to quality outcomes.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience building relationships.
• Up to 90% travel as needed.

• Travel: Up to 90% as needed.

Work Environment

• Regular professional office business setting with noise levels ranging from low to moderate.
• Construction worksite environment with noise levels ranging from moderate to high.
• Role may transition to onsite or hybrid arrangement based on business needs and department head decision.
