Site HR Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Site HR Manager to join a successful and well-established manufacturing business on a part-time basis (2–3 days per week). This is a hands-on role for an experienced HR professional who will take ownership of the full HR function within a busy manufacturing environment, working closely with managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Act as the day-to-day HR point of contact for managers and employees at site level.
• Manage the full recruitment process for operational and salaried positions, including advertising, interviewing, offers, and pre-employment checks.
• Coordinate new starter processes, inductions, onboarding, and training.
• Support managers with employee relations matters, including investigations, absence, performance, and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring HR documentation is compliant and up to date.
• Support performance management processes, including objectives, appraisals, and development activity.
• Coordinate training and development programmes across the site.
• Implement company-wide HR initiatives, policies, and procedures.
• Provide HR reporting and key people metrics to support business and workforce decisions.
• Promote positive employee relations and an inclusive, supportive workplace culture.
• Ensure HR policies and procedures align with UK employment legislation.
• Work alongside the Health & Safety function to support compliance and employee records.
• Liaise with Finance to support monthly payroll administration.
• Support benefits, leave, and other employee-related processes.
• Collaborate with the wider HR team on projects, change initiatives, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• CIPD qualified or working towards CIPD qualification.
• Strong experience in a broad HR generalist capacity, ideally in a standalone or site-based HR role.
• Previous experience within manufacturing, engineering, automotive, or a similarly fast-paced operational environment is highly desirable.

Pay

£45,000 pro rata.
