About the role

The County of Sierra is seeking a qualified candidate to be appointed as Treasurer-Tax Collector effective December 26, 2026, under contract with the Board of Supervisors, to fill the vacancy occurring on December 24, 2026, pending the election in March of 2028.

Responsibilities

• Manage the County’s financial operations, including treasury management, property tax collection, and investment of public funds.
• Safeguard public assets and ensure compliance with state laws and regulations.
• Provide transparent, accurate financial reporting.

Requirements

• A strong knowledge of public finance, investments, and tax administration.
• Integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with the public, staff, and other government agencies.
