Full-time position in Corpus Christi reporting to Matthew Rendon.

About the role

The Shuttle Driver 2 will safely load, unload, and deliver parts on a timely schedule to Shuttle System drop boxes and Stores along an assigned route, adhering to company safety regulations and state laws. Other duties may include assisting Parts Departments in sorting and other warehouse tasks.

This is a mid-level position requiring more than three years of experience and/or demonstrated job-relevant knowledge and skills. The role involves performing a variety of standard, complex, and technical tasks with indirect supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to company needs by transporting shuttle shipments promptly, accurately, and efficiently.
  • Secure materials on trucks, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines for safe transport and vehicle capabilities, as verified by D.O.T. inspections.
  • Meet all state requirements and Holt safety and health guidelines, as monitored by yearly management records.
  • Complete D.O.T.-required driver’s daily log accurately, without misrepresentation, and maintain no more than three moving violations within a twelve-month period.
  • Complete driver’s daily inspection report and recommend repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain a clean appearance of the company-assigned vehicle.
  • Travel to all HOLT CAT locations, potentially working multiple days or weeks at those sites.
  • Collaborate with the Parts Systems Manager on various projects.
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to all applicable safety policies, and comply with company procedures and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with Class A CDL; must maintain this license.
  • Qualified and certified for vehicle operation.
  • More than three years of experience operating a truck-trailer combination.
  • Able to drive and operate a truck with a manual transmission.

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of industrial engines, transportation, and safe driving procedures.
  • Understanding of Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and DOT guidelines.
  • Proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including needs assessment and quality standards.
  • Quality control analysis skills for testing and inspecting products, services, or processes.
  • Operation and control skills for managing equipment or systems.
  • Equipment selection skills to determine the appropriate tools for tasks.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust vehicle or machine controls to exact positions.
  • Ability to read maps and operate GPS systems.
  • Ability to maintain a clean driving record and a strong focus on safety.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and mechanical repair equipment.
  • Precise hand-eye coordination for grasping, manipulating, or assembling small objects.
  • Ability to read and understand written information and ideas.
  • Ability to listen to and comprehend information presented through spoken words and sentences.

Physical Requirements

  • Must remain in a stationary position 100% of the time while driving.
  • Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to support weight over time without fatigue; frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs, requiring good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Ability to ascend and descend using both hands and feet, including climbing ladders.
  • Ability to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment.
  • Must react to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and perform visual inspections of work.

Work Environment

  • Requires working in a closed vehicle or equipment.
  • Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
  • Requires working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, heavy rain, and wind.
  • Exposure to distracting or uncomfortable sounds and noise levels.
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Significant time spent in confined spaces and/or high places.

Travel up to 100%. No supervisory responsibilities.
