About the role
Operate the hotel van to transport guests to and from destinations in a safe, courteous manner while delivering Sonesta’s signature hospitality and maintaining the hotel’s front-of-house appearance.
Responsibilities
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
- Respond promptly and courteously to all guest requests for shuttle service; assist guests with luggage while boarding and off-loading the vehicle.
- Maintain a strong commitment to transportation excellence by ensuring airline crew members and guests are picked up and dropped off safely, efficiently, and within required service time standards.
- Operate the vehicle in accordance with state laws and observe all airport rules pertaining to shuttle vehicles.
- Explain and promote hotel facilities, outlets, services, local attractions, and activities to guests.
- Perform daily vehicle inspections; correct deficiencies or unsafe conditions; keep the vehicle clean and neat at all times.
- Maintain a vehicle mileage log.
- Regularly inspect and clear the hotel entrance and surrounding areas of litter and debris; sweep as needed to ensure a clean and welcoming arrival experience.
- Clean lobby and entrance windows and glass doors to maintain a professional appearance.
- Restock the hotel market, grab-and-go area, guest amenities, and bottled water supplies throughout the property.
- Deliver guest requests, amenities, packages, and other items to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide operational support to the Front Desk, including answering telephone calls, assisting guests with inquiries, transferring calls, and supporting guest service initiatives.
- Assist in housekeeping and/or laundry duties, including house attendant rounds and the washing, drying, and folding of hotel laundry.
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
- Ensure guest special requests are fulfilled and proper delivery of guest services is maintained.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred.
- Previous background from the extended-stay industry preferred.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Frequently standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Ability to carry, lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently handling objects, equipment, luggage, and guest supplies.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced airport hotel environment.
- Required to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
